Find Free Graphic Novels and Comics Online!

Wondering how to find graphic novels when your library is closed? Yes, we have some in e-book format, as well as a couple in e-audio format.

Cloud Library  doesn’t have a lot of graphic novels but their collection does have the graphic-novel versions of favorites such as The Baby-Sitters Club series and Rick Riordan’s Kane Chronicles, as well as other graphic novels and related books, mostly for kids. Just type “graphic novels” into the search bar.

Overdrive has a bigger selection ranging from the first volume of the Attack on Titan manga to the adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time. Type “comic and graphic novels” in the search bar.

Many of the e-books will have holds, so try these sources too –

Kids (also many teens and adults!) can hop on YouTube for Mo Willems’ half-hour Lunch Doodles, where he doodles, talks about how he created his Elephant & Piggie stories, and more!

Marvel Comics offers free first issues of many of their teen and adult comics series as well as free digital originals. If you want to try Digital Originals about Cloak & Dagger or Jessica Jones, or you haven’t read a Black Panther comic yet, now is a good time!

Teen and adult manga fans will be happy to find out that the publisher Viz provides the latest translated chapters of four popular teen manga: Demon Slayer, Haikyuu, My Hero Academia, and One Piece.

Finally, the Library of Congress has online archives of notable comics, mostly for teens and adults. This collection includes diverse authors and characters in a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction collections. (Some may not be appropriate for teens.)
