Thousands of children, teens, and adults participating in our Summer Reading Challenge this year are having adventures all over Montgomery County, inside and outside of our libraries. This year, we want to celebrate those adventures with you during Adventure Week at the library!
If you haven’t registered for Summer Reading yet, it’s not too late.
Just go to our website or stop by the Information Desk in any Montgomery County Public Library and sign up.
This year, we’ve partnered with the Montgomery County Parks Foundation to help increase accessibility to county parks, preserve our county history, and keep our parks beautiful! By completing fun activities all summer long, participants can earn e-badges and help make sure that our parks stay beautiful and accessible to all.
Adventure Week is an opportunity to celebrate all of the summer adventures, big and small, that you’ve been having this year. Whether you’ve been exploring any of our 419 Montgomery County Parks locations, attending fun library programs featuring performers from all over the world, or reading stories that take you on adventures in your imagination, Adventure Week is for you!
Every branch of Montgomery County Public Libraries will be celebrating Adventure Week with book displays, crafts, and programs – including outdoor storytimes, dance performances, game nights, STEM activities, and lots of other fun events.
Check out our online calendar of events to find out what is going on at your local library during Adventure Week and beyond.
Don’t forget to pick up your Mari Mariposa (our Summer Reading mascot) to take along on all of your adventures this summer – and whenever you take a photo with her, make sure to tag us at #MCPLreads.
