POSTED 11/12/24
We’re making big improvements! Starting this December, we’re rolling out a series of exciting updates to enhance our public computer and printer services. Our current system is being replaced by a new, more user-friendly software and we’re also updating our printers to offer a better, more efficient experience for all of our patrons.

Key Takeaways:

System Upgrade: We’re replacing Pharos with TBS software and upgrading our printers for better service.

Temporary Service Interruptions: Certain locations will experience service disruptions from December 2 to December 30.

Mobile Printing: You’ll soon be able to print directly from your personal devices.

Stay Updated: Follow us on social media for ongoing updates and check our website for detailed schedules.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s coming:

What does the upgrade entail?

The upgrade is a comprehensive system that will improve the way you interact with our public computers and printers. The new setup includes several upgraded features that will make accessing our services easier and more convenient:

TBS: This new software offers better user experience with option to select language before signing-in and display of session time left and printing balance on your library card. It will help staff handle booking, printing, and processing payment.

Mobile Printing: A game-changer for tech-savvy patrons! You’ll soon be able to print directly from your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop to our Konica printers through an app, email or website—no need to be tied to a computer station.

TBS Kiosks: We’re installing 35 new kiosks to help you release and manage your print jobs, scanning and copying with ease. These kiosks are located beside the printers for your convenience.

Why the Upgrade?

Upgrading both the hardware and software is a complex, multi-phase project, but we’re excited about the improvements it will bring. Not only will our new system make it easier for you to print and use computers, but it also lays the foundation for additional services in the future. Our goal is to ensure that your experience is seamless, efficient, and modern.

What Does This Mean for You?

While the transition is exciting, there will be some temporary disruptions during the upgrade process. Specifically, from December 2 to December 30, certain branches will experience temporary interruptions to public computer and printing services. We’ll be working hard to minimize downtime and ensure that you can continue accessing our services at other locations. Please see service schedule below.

We understand that these disruptions may be inconvenient, and we thank you for your patience as we make these improvements.

Keeping You Informed

We want to keep you updated every step of the way! Throughout the upgrade process, you’ll see announcements via our website, social media channels, and system-wide newsletter. Make sure to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and X for real-time updates.

Thank You for Your Patience!

We’re excited to bring you these upgrades and can’t wait to hear what you think! Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for all of our patrons, and we truly appreciate your patience as we work through these changes. Stay tuned for more updates and thank you for being part of our community!
